Find a nature preserve near you by using the controls on the upper left of the map to zoom (the "+" and "-" icons) and pan (the arrows) to the area you want to view. When you click on a colored balloon, you'll receive more information about the featured preserve. Be sure to check back soon, because there are even more preserves to come.

Please note that only 100 or so preserves display at any one time. Please zoom in to make sure that you are seeing all preserves in a specific area.
Green balloons mark public preserves, while yellow balloons mark preserves that are closed to the public some or all of the time, normally due to the ecological sensitivity of the site. Silver balloons mark former preserves, which have since been turned over to a local, state or national park system.
