We like to bike and we like this planet

We are Erin Syth and Alan Turnquist - two Wisconsin natives riding our tandem bicycle from the Arctic Ocean to the southern tip of South America. When we began our trip we had not intended to have a charitable component. As a matter of fact, we were looking forward to a trip, just the two of us, without having to be beholden to outisde groups or organizations. But as we pedaled the first few thousand miles, we realized how precious many of the places we visited truly are--and how precarious their existences remain. We also realized that we do want to join the ranks of everyday folks who have worked to preserve that which is important to them.

We chose the Nature Conservancy (TNC) because we cherish natural landscapes and we believe in the approach that TNC takes to balance the need for production (ie farming and logging) with the need for conservation (such as water resource management and habitat creation).

Our goal is to raise $20,000, or about a dollar for every mile we pedal. Please join us and help us reach our goal!
