Tell U.S. Leaders: Don't Back Out of Climate Action

Climate Change

The U.S. government has taken the first step toward pulling out of the Paris Agreement on climate change. This decision is alarming and short-sighted.

Science shows us that climate change is the most urgent threat facing our planet today. And the steps we must take to steer humanity away from irreparable harm cut across borders. International cooperation is not optional—it's essential.

America needs to honor our commitments to global climate action like the Paris Agreement, the unprecedented global pact among 196 nations on climate action. We cannot be silent.

Action on Paris Agreement

Dear TNC

I support the importance of strong U.S. participation in global climate action. U.S. leadership is essential if we are going to protect our planet from the irreparable impacts of climate change.

I care deeply about our lands and waters--and the communities that rely upon them--and I'm counting on you to prioritize science-based policies that will protect our nation's natural heritage, our most cherished places, and the many benefits nature provides to communities.

For decades, America has demonstrated significant and bipartisan international leadership on environmental issues, from President Reagan's efforts to protect the ozone layer with the Montreal Protocol all the way through our current commitment to the Paris Agreement.

I urge you not to back away from taking action on climate change, one of the most pressing threats facing our planet today.
