Four separate bills in Congress threaten greater rollbacks to public lands protections. Now’s the time for immediate action to stop them.
These bills take things even further than Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke’s dramatic shrinking of Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments. Together, these bills would permanently enshrine the recent, controversial rollbacks into law and essentially choke the Antiquities Act in red tape. That’s the main law used to protect national monuments since it was championed by Teddy Roosevelt in 1906.
This is a troubling continuation of threats to public lands that puts critical natural treasures at risk of unwise development.
That’s why we need your help right away.
Add your voice and tell your members of Congress that you oppose these bills that put our national monuments on the chopping block. We cannot afford to sacrifice our most important lands and waters. Our country’s special places like these need more protection, not less.

Hang on a moment — we will confirm their response just as soon as it comes through.
America needs to honor our commitments to global climate action. Call for strong and continued U.S. leadership.
The lands that the endangered Florida panther calls home are at risk. Only 180 of these majestic cats are left, and every acre of habitat is critical. Make your voice heard to help.
We can’t protect our nation’s clean air, water and natural places unless we preserve critical conservation funding.
Invasive species run amok in our lakes, parks -- and even in our own backyards. They overrun native plants and damage the lands and waters that plants and animals need to survive.
Congress is close to taking a critical step to reduce U.S. energy use -- an essential strategy in the fight against climate change. But unless they hear from you now, this vital legislation will go unpassed, increasing threats to nature and communities.
There’s a leafy superhero in your backyard. How much do you know about the power of trees?

Dear TNC
I stand in firm support of our nation's public lands and urge you to help defeat [bill #, bill #, bill # and bill #]. Our cherished landscapes and waters are home to some of the United States' great natural treasures, and we cannot afford to roll back protections. National monuments and public lands not only inspire us; they give us clean water and air, provide vital wildlife habitat, and generate millions of dollars in recreational activities. Places like these need more protection, not less.
Sincerely,
