Urgent Action Needed: Renew LWCF

US

Climate

The Land and Water Conservation Fund has protected millions of acres in nearly every county in the U.S.— at NO COST to taxpayers. But Congress didn't save this vital program before it expired September 30.

Now, each day that passes, hundreds of conservation efforts across the country that rely on this funding are in jeopardy.

Time has run out. We need to get LWCF back up and running as soon as possible. Conserving our most important lands and waters depends on it.

Call on your elected leaders in Congress to reauthorize and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund now. Make your voice heard!

Renew LWCF Now

Dear TNC

I'm deeply concerned that Congress did not act and allowed the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) to expire on September 30. Our nation and our planet cannot afford to put essential conservation programs in jeopardy.

LWCF is one of America's most important and successful conservation programs, benefiting every state in the nation. LWCF has a 50-year track record of helping provide clean water, conserve natural resources, increase recreation opportunities and support communities.

Vital conservation work is in danger every day LWCF continues to be expired. Plus, renewing it and increasing its funding will not cost taxpayers a penny because it's paid for with drilling revenues from oil and gas companies. I urge you to reauthorize and fully fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
