The Trump Administration has rolled back protections for the Greater Sage-grouse, an imperiled species whose fate is tied to the health of America’s iconic western sagebrush landscape.

These roll backs upend a 2015 agreement that was rooted in conservation science and resulted from a decade-long collaborative effort with state governments, conservation, industry and agriculture to ensure the health of both Greater Sage-grouse populations and rural western sagebrush communities.

Not only does this move put sensitive landscapes across public lands in eleven Western states at risk of drilling, mining and other development… it threatens the survival of the Greater Sage-grouse, whose numbers have shrunk by more than half in recent years.

Pledge to stand with The Nature Conservancy as we work to conserve the Greater Sage-grouse and the 350 other species of important plants and animals including elk, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and golden eagles that make their home in the sage brush steppe. Now is the time to work together to conserve this imperiled species.
