Tell Lawmakers: Oregon Climate Action Now

Climate change is upon us. The impacts—increased wildfire, drought and rising sea levels—are already being felt in Oregon and across the world. There is a path to a cleaner and healthier future but we MUST take action to address climate change now, before it’s too late.

The science is clear and economists agree that a cap-and-invest policy is the quickest and most effective way to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and avoid the worst impacts of a warming climate.

Please use this form to contact your Senator and Representative in the Oregon Legislature to show your continued support of a cap-and-invest policy. Together, we can protect the air we breathe, the water we drink and the communities in which we live. The time to take action on climate change is now.

Support Cap-and-Invest Legislation

Dear TNC

Oregonians who live and work on the land are directly at risk of experiencing the effects of our changing climate--drought, wildfire, rising sea levels and unpredictable harvests. Unless we take swift action, low income and other climate-impacted people and communities will increasingly bear the brunt of climate change.

This session, you can help create a stronger and healthier Oregon by addressing climate change and passing a strong cap-and-invest bill. Please support a policy that makes significant, economy-wide reductions in the carbon emissions that are putting our natural landscapes, communities and health at risk. Such a program would allow Oregon to combine efforts with other jurisdictions to address climate change, and would generate funding to invest in restoring our forests, rivers and working lands.

The cost of doing nothing to mitigate and adapt to climate change is too high. Please take strong action now and support passage of cap-and-invest legislation this session.
