Climate change is upon us. The impacts are already being felt in Oregon and across the world. There is a path to a better future but we MUST take action to combat climate change before it’s too late.
Oregon lawmakers were unable to pass House Bill 2020 to create the Oregon Climate Action Program during the 2019 legislative session. This cap-and-invest bill would reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Oregon, create good jobs in every county and invest in the restoration of our forests, rivers and streams to protect air and water quality and lessen the risk of catastrophic wildfire.
Please use this form to contact your Senator and Representative to show your continued support of House Bill 2020 and the Oregon Climate Action Program. Together, we can protect the air we breathe, the water we drink and the communities in which we live. The time to take action on climate change is now.
Create the Oregon Climate Action Program
In Oregon, we are already experiencing the impacts of climate change, and it's putting our communities, local economies and health at risk. We must accelerate the pace of climate action. There is no time to waste.
HB 2020 would have created a program to curb our carbon pollution and dedicate funding across the state to invest in and restore our forests, rivers and working lands to further reduce emissions and store more carbon. Please pass a cap-and-invest program like that proposed in HB 2020 as soon as possible.
The cost of doing nothing to prevent and adapt to climate change is too high and puts all Oregonians at risk. Seven in 10 Oregon voters, like me, support this step forward for Oregon. I encourage you to take strong action now and support passage of Cap and Invest legislation as soon as possible.
