Hawksbills are one of the most vulnerable of the seven species of marine sea turtles. They nest in the Arnavon Islands in the South Pacific, but systematic hunting has pushed local populations to the brink. The Nature Conservancy and local communities have banded together to protect these endangered sea turtles and the lands and waters they need to survive. To aid in the nesting process, monitors protect the turtles' nests from predation and nesting beach erosion. When the eggs are ready to hatch, the monitors may assist the newly hatched turtles in their journey to sea.
Your gift of $40 could let us tag one more Hawksbill turtle and help a new generation of sea turtles thrive.
