Protecting Oceans

11258450.jpg

From our oceans, we get fish to eat, clean air to breathe, medicines to treat disease and new places to harness energy. Whether we live near the coast, or far inland, the oceans make our lives better.

Deep and vast, the oceans contain 99 percent of living space – and more than half the species – on Earth. But even the sea has limits. Much is demanded from our oceans, and little is protected.

So The Nature Conservancy is working with partners to design a network of marine protected areas (MPAs) that incorporate both human needs and nature's.

YOUR GIFT TRULY MATTERS

Today, the natural resources that give us life, keep us healthy and bring us joy are in jeopardy.

The Nature Conservancy has been working for more than 60 years to protect the precious resources we need to survive and thrive. And today, we are leading the way forward, forging innovative solutions that benefit both nature and people. Give the Gift of Nature today and help protect it for tomorrow.

* With the exception of the Adopt an AcreŽ and Adopt a Coral Reef gifts, these gifts are only symbolic and may be used in any way to support The Nature Conservancy's mission to conserve the lands and waters on which all life depends.
